The Green Chamber of the South Continues to Build Member Base
Non-profit focused on enhancing sustainable business practices welcomes 11 new organizations
(ATLANTA—July 24, 2012) Adding to a rapidly growing member base, 11 Atlanta-area organizations have joined the Green Chamber of the South (GCS). Founded in 2008 to promote the growth, innovation and success of sustainable practices, GCS provides support and networking opportunities for “green” businesses across the Southeast.
“We are pleased to welcome our new members. All of these organizations come from different industries, but they all have one common goal in mind: sustainability,” said Marty Tomlinson, executive director of GCS. “Each will play a large role in the continued development of the Green Chamber and we look forward to working with them very closely.”
The Green Chamber’s new members include:
• Kimberly-Clark Corporation
• Zerorez
• Rose Paving Company
• Metro Plug-In
• Adrian Collaborative
• Marcus Jewish Community Center
• The Original Rainwater Pillow
• Power Partners, Inc.
• Southern Charge
• Craftsman Printing
• Energy Earth
The Green Chamber provides members with a variety of resources to increase exposure. These include networking opportunities, collaborative projects, workshops, roundtables, mixers and seminars, as well as a Greenhouse Accelerator program. Through the Greenhouse Accelerator, GCS supports well-reviewed projects to help them gain access to the skills and resources needed to implement plans on the path to becoming a successfully sustainable business. Target organizations for the Greenhouse Accelerator include green start-up companies, established green companies looking to raise its profile and mature companies looking to break into green business practices.
“The Green Chamber of the South provides Rose Paving with an excellent opportunity to share best practices with regard to sustainability in the maintenance segment of our business, as well as the opportunity to network with individuals and businesses in the Atlanta market who share a common goal of applying green practices to everyday business,” said Brandon Graf, director of the Rose Paving’s Regional Office in Atlanta. “We’re excited to be involved and to learn what other members are doing in the respective fields and associated fields to promote sustainable business practices.”
