Man Injured in Downtown Train Crash - Douglasville Patch

One man was injured and taken to Atlanta Medical after apparently attempting to drive around the warning signal cross bar and over the train tracks in downtown Douglasville Thursday morning, according to Capt. D. Shaw, Douglasville Police Department.

The man had no visible injuries but was complaining about his left leg, Shaw said. The train appeared to be undamaged.

Man Trapped on Escalator After Foot Gets Stuck - Buckhead Patch

A man, who was at Phipps Plaza to work on the shopping center's sprinkler system, was rescued after getting his foot caught in one of the parking deck escalators.

According to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the man was carrying a ladder up the escalator when it slipped and created a wedge in the stairs of the escalator which is where the man's right foot became stuck.

It took Atlanta Firefighters an hour to remove his foot from the escalator using heavy equipment.

Suspect in Attempted Rape Spotted at Botanical Garden - Athens Patch

There was a delay in communication on Wednesday that prevented the University of Georgia Police from reaching the State Botanical Garden in time. Someone had seen a man whom they believed was the suspect in the recent attempted rape at the Botanical Garden, according to a story in the Athens Banner Herald.

UGA Police Chief Jimmy Williamson advises everyone to remain cautious and vigilant while they're going about their business at the State Botanical Garden.
