Just when you thought Town Center Park in Suwanee was about to become an oldies radio station, a new twist is added for Saturday.
The Atlanta Rhythm Section, a revamped version of the group that gained fame in the 1970s, is headlining the Celebrate Service Music Festival. The band is scheduled to take the amphitheater stage at 7:30 p.m.
However, that caps an entire day of music at the park. The North Gwinnett Drum Line and the 12Stone Band are among the other performers listed. Music is expected to start at 10 a.m.
The event, sponsored by Amigos for Christ charity of Buford, also lists a 30-mile bike ride and a frisbee tournament as attractions.
According to website information, the Atlanta Rhythm Section reunited in 1996. Their "Southern rock" hits included "Champagne Jam" and "Imaginary Lover." Dean Daughtry, Paul Goddard and Rodney Justo are back from the original lineup. Vocalist Ronnie Hammond died in March 2011.

Tim, another vigilant reader also alerted us to the current ARS lineup, and I've included this in the story. Thanks!
