A Suwanee restaurant this week joined the list of those raising funds for Abby Boone, 8, who was diagnosed with leukemia this year.

Cooley's Pizza on Scales Road wrote a check for $1,585.89 to CURE because of the store's one-day benefit, according to Courtney Cooley, a co-owner.

Boone, a third-grader at Suwanee Elementary, was diagnosed with leukemia in March, according to the CURE website. Before this week, $9,000 has been raised on Boone's behalf, three times the initial amount sought
