'Days' Tour May Return to Atlanta

The large turnout last month in Suwanee has organizers considering an encore.

The recent turnout in Suwanee for the "Days Of Our Lives" cast appearance has tour organizers thinking of a return trip to the Atlanta area.

A tour publicist said this week that the turnout of 2,000 or so in March still is the strongest on the nationwide tour, which included stops in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. New Orleans, the stop following Suwanee, had about 1,000 fans come to see several cast members.

Filizzola remarked that the Suwanee turnout reminded the cast of how strong the show's fan base in Atlanta is, so a return is being considered.

Fans from as far away as North Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama began lining up at Suwanee's City Hall in mid-afternoon March 21. Two lines -- one for book purchases, one strictly for signings by cast members -- stretched into the rear parking lot as the event began at 6 p.m. The cast members stayed past 10 p.m. to try to accommodate all the fans.

Tour organizers also set up a special email address for fans who were unable to get their books signed at the event: Daysbooks@itgirlpublicrelations.com.

The Suwanee event was in conjunction with the publication of "Days Of Our Lives 45 Years: A Celebration In Photos." The soap opera is the longest-running scripted show in NBC history.

Cast members appearing included 2009 Norcross High graduate Chandler Massey

Yes, we would love to attend another Days of Our Lives 45th Anniversary Book Signing in Suwanee or the Atlanta area. Last time, we had 7 in our group. We came from Murphy, NC, Abbeville, SC, Elberton, GA, and Lawrenceville, GA to meet and greet the stars. It took me and my daughter, 3 hours to get there, 3 hours to stand in line and 5 minutes of Priceless Memories with the cast of Days of Our Lives. I have met about 60 of the actors from Days of Our Lives over the years and would love to attend another book signing in Atlanta again. Thank you, Roz Barnett

The actors were awesome and it was wonderful sharing stories with other fans in line. I hope there is another book signing tour here in Atlanta. I would be FAN-tastic if the NOLA book signing crew came to Atlanta. I know the line count would double!

I stood in line forever after they ran out of books and did not allow us to take pictures with the cast. They also made everyone buy a book to see the cast. The books came a month later. We were told they would be signed, but they were not at all! Im glad I got to meet them as they were very nice, but the organizers need to get their events together. I would not hire this crew again to organize an event and I will definitely show up 24 hours before so that I may have some quality time with the cast ahaha!

Suawanee was a complete disaster and still waiting to receive my book and the extra gifts they were to send. I would love to attend but there needs to be some thought put into working with the people that are in wheelchairs. My mother has suffered a ruprured brian anuersym and broken hip, there is no way to wait in one line and then told you must go around the building to the other line, have they pushed a wheelchair up and down the streets, then mom must use the restroom and they would not allow her in. Point is there were no books lelft after what I put my mother thru and was told I would be mailed one, and I'm still waiting. Need to have people that know how to run an event, whats going on and to not be RUDE to the public.
