Friends Sports Grill Closer To Opening in Suwanee
City Council OKs the alcoholic beverage license Tuesday.
The newest entry in the Suwanee restaurant scene moved closer to its debut Tuesday. The Suwanee City Council approved the alcoholic beverage license for Friends Sports Grill at the February council meeting.
Ray Stanjevich, the owner/operator of the eatery, was at City Hall for the approval. He is planning on a March opening, although it might not be in time for St. Patrick's Day. He still has some other regulatory hurdles to clear before business can begin.
Stanjevich, who also runs the Friends Sports Grill in Dacula, said he is considering getting a booth at the Suwanee Beerfest, which is set for March 16 at Town Center Park.

Friends will be located at 3890 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, near Town Center. It will be in the suite that has housed Corralejo and Indigo Joe's.
And Stanjevich, an experienced owner-operator, is aware of the competitive nature of the restaurant business, which has claimed several Suwanee eateries in the past few months.
"If the food is not right, people are not going to come back."

It will be interesting to see how he structures the bar lay-out to enhance viewing the many TVs it will take to make it a true, sports bar & grill. Of course, the food will have to be great and price effective. A guy needs a place where he knows everyone (Cheers), and feels compfortable relaxing and enjoying his favorite sports presentations.. I love the name! I feel compfortable already. I will see you folks there.

Promote Altanta teams. Keep the games on TV rather then General Hosptial and he should be fine. Trivia nights and draft beer specials would be good as well. Get the word out at town center that you are just around the corner would be good. I think that is where the other places went wrong. No one knew they were there.
