Georgia Force Wins AFL Opener

Cleveland falls; Tampa Bay is the next opponent.

The Georgia Force won its 2012 opener Monday, defeating the Cleveland Gladiators 41-39 in Arena Football League play at the Gwinnett Arena.

Quarterback Darnell Kennedy completed 16 of 29 passes for 129 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in the win, according to the Force.

Also, defensive back Tracy Belton had two interceptions in the first half as the Force took a 22-13 halftime lead. A touchdown catch by receiver Jeremy Grier put the Force ahead 40-32 late in the game.

The Force will be on the road this weekend, facing the Tampa Bay Storm on Friday at 8:00 p.m. The game will be televised on the NFL Network.Β
