Fans of independent movies can get another taste of the genre Monday in Suwanee when the independent film screenings resume.
"TRUST: Second Acts in Young Lives" will be shown at the Movie Tavern at 7 p.m., according to a city news release. The theater is at 2855 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, near I-85.
This movie is part of filmmaker Nancy Kelly's trilogy about the transformative power of art. The film follows members of Chicago's Albany Park Theater Project as they transform the traumatic story of an 18-year-old Honduran immigrant into an original play.
Kelly will be on hand at the screening to discuss the film with patrons.
Tickets may be purchased for $6 each at Movie Tavern or online at www.movietavern.com. The film may not be appropriate for children, the release notes.
The screenings of the Southeastern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers began last fall, and will continue in March and April in Suwanee.
