Gwinnett Man Arrested After Explosive Devices Were Found
Lawrenceville Police say Spencer Allen Braswell had homemade bombs in his home off of Paper Mill Road.
Lawrenceville Police have arrested a man following Wednesday's call of shots fired at 320 Spring Lake Drive. Spencer Allen Braswell, 53, has been charged with possession or manufacturing of a destructive device.
Officers were called to the home in response to the sound of gunshots. When they arrived, they found a suspicious device in the backyard.
LPD called in Gwinnett County's Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit for help. The EOD Unit confirmed the device was in fact a bomb.
After getting a search warrant, officers looked through the rest of the residence where they discovered several more homemade explosive devices. All of the bombs were removed and destroyed.
In a release, LPD Cpt. Greg Vaughn said the investigation is ongoing and expects more charges to be filed.
Braswell was taken to the Gwinnett County Detention Center, where he's being held without bond.
