Maya Moore To Hold Basketball Camp in Suwanee

The Collins Hill High graduate now plays for Minnesota of the WNBA.

 

Former Suwanee basketball star Maya Moore will be holding a basketball camp in her hometown in December.

Moore, currently with the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx and a former star at UConn, will hold her inaugural camp on Dec. 20-22 at the .

The camp will run Dec. 20-22, 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., and will be for boys and girls ages 8-16. Fee is $200 per camper.

“Atlanta is the city that helped shape me into the player that I am today, and I couldn’t be more excited to host my first professional basketball camp here,” Moore said in a published report.  “I look forward to making an impact on young kids in the community and showing them what it takes to work towards reaching your dream.”

The camp will provide an opportunity for players to fully realize their potential in an enriching, fun, and safe environment that encourages teamwork, goal setting, self-confidence, respect, and dedication to the game, according to Moore's website.

Campers will have the chance to be inspired by special guests through age-appropriate panels and workshops while learning ball handling, rebounding, passing, and court spacing from Moore and a staff of experienced coaches. .
