I "crossed party lines" and voted for Jen Falk on my absentee ballot. After supporting the incumbent for 15 years, I saw her doing less and less to support, inform, or encourage her constituents. The incumbant has been ineffective at best and ignorant/illegal at worst. Meanwhile, Jen Falk has been working directly with parents and students in our communities and is educated, experienced, and empowered enough to make a positive difference in our school board.

My husband and I are also Republicans voting for Jen Falk. We are tired of our tax dollars NOT going into education - and after over a decade of MKM not listening to us, voting unanimously with Wilbanks 1,000 times (literally), and a 67% graduation rate it's way past time for new ideas. And Steve? I would have thought you would at least 'check' to see the Jen Falk Campaign contribution numbers before putting a link up with that out of date information - ! She has raised just as much money as MKM from parents like us who want change. Maybe you can correct that? Thank you so much!!

No, I will not be voting for MKM. After hearing nothing but political rhetoric from her and watching as she turned a blind eye when her input was certainly needed - I have decided to vote for Jen Falk. I am very tired of a "rubber stamp" board that never discusses, asks questions or shows any initiative in questioning any proposal or budget line item put before them. Every vote, every comment is "Yessir" unanimously. This is like a Stepford Board, in my opinion. We need people on the school board who are in touch with parents,who understand the frustrations of teachers and can also think. We need new blood. We need Jen Falk.

I want to be represented by someone who is looking out for my best interests. When you can't get information without an open records request it's hard to feel like you're on the same team. The board thinks it can act with impunity. We need someone who understands the need for transparency and who wants input from the community. How else are our children going to be able to compete in a global marketplace? MKM has lost touch with her constituents. It is time for Jen Falk.

Education is not a partisan matter. Democrat or Republican, we all care about the quality of education our kids are receiving. MKM likes to tout the Broad Award from 2010, but what's she done since? Voted in lockstep with the rest of the board, providing non-answers to constituent questions, betraying her district during last year's redistricting efforts... meanwhile, Jen Falk has been talking with parents, teachers, and even students, to learn about their concerns and ideas for a better education experience. Over the past few years I have gotten more involved with the educational issues of our community. It has been an enlightening yet disheartening experience for me. My involvement with MKM has left me feeling betrayed, intimated, silenced, and baffled at the lack of transparency and accountability. I feel the incumbent has forgotten who she represents – it is the people of District III - students, parents, teachers, administrators, and taxpayers. I will vote for Jen Falk!

Of course Jen Falk is going to win because Mary Kay Murphy has disappointed too many voters and Jen has proven to me that it is not just a vote against MKM, but a vote FOR Jen Falk. I've never met a person who is so genuinely interested in hearing what others have to say and being a champion of the "unheard".
