Fans of singer Katy Perry -- and yes, there are quite a few of them, including in Suwanee and Gwinnett -- can catch their fave's new film, which rolls out Thursday, July 5.
The recently opened Movie Tavern on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road will begin showing the documentary "Katy Perry: Part Of Me" Thursday at 3:45, 6:15 p.m. or in 3D at 1:00 and 9:00 p.m.
According to a review in the Kansas City Star, "Katy Perry: Part of Me" is not a concert film (although there is ample performance footage); it is not a chronicle of her life.
"Part of Me" is Perry's visually spectacular testimonial to her own determination to follow her dreams.
According to USA TODAY: The pop singer, 27, will offer a behind-the-scenes look at her life during her 2011 California Dreams tour. One of her shows was at the Gwinnett Arena.
The year-long 124-show marathon that showcased 2010's multiplatinum album Teenage Dream and earned nearly $60 million saw Perry playing to mostly sold-out venues and dealing with the breakup of her marriage to comedian/actor Russell Brand.
On her Twitter feed, Perry also included a pic of herself at the London premier of the film.
