Stereo Stolen, Dashboard Damaged During Car Break-in at Mall of Georgia -- Buford Patch.
A thief or thieves defeated the lock on a 2007 Hummer and stole approximately $1,250 worth of stereo equipment in a brazen car break-in at the Mall of Georgia.
A Loganville woman parked her vehicle in the lower level parking lot of J.C. Penney just before 5 p.m. on Sept. 12. When she returned to her vehicle a little more than an hour later, she discovered someone had forced entry into her vehicle, pried off the center dashboard and removed a stereo unit, amplifier and subwoofer.
The investigating officer discovered a small hole in the door panel just below the keyhole where the lock had been forced.
According to the police report, the woman did not notice any suspicious activity in the area when she arrived at the mall.

Woman Accuses Friend of Stealing Lortabs -- Dacula Patch
A favor turned into theft when a so-called friend refused to hand over the drugs he had picked up for a woman from a Dacula doctor’s office.
The woman said she asked her friend to stop by Covenant Family Medicine on Teron Trace to pick up her referral to a pain clinic. The woman said she called the office to let them know the man would be stopping by to pick up the referral.
The man reportedly called the woman later and said he had the referral and her prescription refills. The woman, who had only expected her friend to pick up the referral, told police the man said he was keeping her prescriptions, a 30-count bottle of Lortabs and a 40-count bottle of Soma, until she paid him money she owed.
The woman provided Gwinnett County Police with the man’s name and the name of the extended stay hotel where he resides.
The officer called Covenant Family Medicine and spoke with the dispensary manager. According to the police report, the manager said the man signed his name and seemed to be well informed regarding what medications the woman had been taking.
