North Gwinnett Ranked No. 5 in AAAAAA

The Bulldogs are the only Suwanee team in the Top 10.

North Gwinnett's last-second victory Saturday (Aug. 25) over Colquitt County has propelled the Bulldogs into the state's elite early in the season.

North is ranked No. 5 in the first statewide AAAAAA poll by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The Bulldogs got a late field goat from Michael D'Angola to slip by Colquitt in a rematch of last season's playoff game, which was won by Colquitt. Also, North lost in the Kell Classic in 2011.

No other Suwanee teams are ranked. Grayson, ranked No. 1, is the only other Gwinnett team in the Top 10.

This Saturday, Sept. 1, North hosts AC Flora of South Carolina in the National High School Gridiron Challenge.
