President Barack Obama: The president’s national campaign has an Atlanta-area headquarters, on historic Auburn Avenue.
GOP Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney: The former Massachusetts governor has visited Gwinnett in his quest to unseat Obama.
Gwinnett County school board: A key seat on the board will go before voters. Incumbent Mary Kay Murphy, a Republican, and Jen Falk, a Democrat, will be running for the District 3 seat that includes the Suwanee schools.
Gwinnett commission District 1: The county's governing body has an open seat. Former Suwanee City Council member Jace Brooks and Suwanee accountant Laurie McClain, both Republicans, want to lead the area that includes Suwanee. This race looks close, with prominent Gwinnett residents backing both candidates.
TSPLOST: A potential tax goes before voters on July 31. This would be a one percent sales tax that would fund transportation improvements throughout metro Atlanta.
