Gwinnett Police Suspect Son Killed Elderly Mother

Gwinnett Police have obtained arrest warrants for the adult son of 72 year old Phyllis Wilson after she was found stabbed to death in her home in unincorporated Lawrenceville, Ga.

Gwinnett Police say they believe an elderly woman's son may be responsible for her death.

Officers were called to 1139 Simonton Glen Way in unincorporated Lawrenceville at 10:28 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 11). The husband of Phyllis Wilson, 72, and her caretaker came back to the house to find the body of the partially paralyzed woman.

Officers observed some signs of trauma on Mrs. Wilson's body, but did not know the extent of her injuries. The Gwinnett Medical Examiner's Office determined she had been stabbed to death.

The Wilsons' son, 42 year old Mark Wilson who suffers from schizophrenia, lives with the couple. However, police have not been able to track him down. They believe the son may be responsible for Mrs. Wilson's death. They have obtained arrest warrants for Mark Wilson for aggravated assault and felony murder. Investigators are still trying to figure out a motive for the murder.

A champagne-colored 2006 Toyota Camry with Georgia license plate ACE 4286 was also missing from the home. Police believe Mark Wilson may be driving this vehicle.

Anyone with information about the location of Mark Wilson or the vehicle is asked to call the Gwinnett County Police at 770-513-5300 or local authorities. If you should come in contact with Mark Wilson, police are asking you to use caution.

I commend this officer for handling the barrage of duplicate questions from these reporters. He stated the facts he was authorized to release and then he reporters badgered him for more. I am impressed with his professionalism and demeanor through this interview.
