Red Brick Oven in Suwanee Has Closed

The eatery on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard had been open five years.

Add the Red Brick Oven to the list of recent Suwanee restaurant casualties.

The casual dining eatery on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard near Suwanee Dam Road has ceased operations in a leasing dispute, according to owner Maral Baghdadi. He said the landlord's new proposed lease payment was far above what some other businesses in the same strip mall are paying.

Baghdadi, who was at the shuttered site Thursday, said he is looking to set up shop again in the Perimeter Mall or Sandy Springs areas.

The Red Brick Oven had been in operation for about five years in Suwanee. True to its name, it used a brick oven to bake menu items. It featured items with a European and Mediterranean flavor, such as lamb kabob, roasted lamb sandwich, and grilled quails.

Olde Towne Tavern & Grille, Cafe Gourmandises and Moondance Restaurant and Lounge closed in Suwanee in recent months.

However, Friends Sports Grill plans to open in a suite near Town Center in March.

Have you ever eaten at the Red Brick Oven? What would you like to see open in the suite? Share your memories in the comments below.

I drove by today and had to do a double take... so sad to see the sign down. Not only did RBO serve great healthy food, they had a friendly atmosphere. They will be missed!

I are there all the time. His home made soups were the best I've ever had. Everything there was so good. It's a shame that he had to shut down. I will really miss this restaurant.

Red Brick Oven was one of my favorites! Not only did it serve great food at a reasonable price, the staff was incredibly friendly. I am so sad to hear this! Please let the owner know we would love for him to remain in our community. Sandy Springs and Perimeter a so far away, he would have to rebuild his clientele. This place will definitely be missed!
