The piece had been stored in a hangar at JFK airport in New York since officials there sorted out wreckage after the attacks in 2001. It arrived in Suwanee in July after city officials coordinated shipping with the Port Authority of New York. Suwanee officials stored it at the Public Works facility until the September ceremony.

The latest location discussed had been City Hall Park, between Suwanee Police headquarters and Gwinnett Fire Station No. 13. But officials still are concerned about proper display, which also will include a special support base.
