Suwanee, you have a couple of interesting choices for weekend fun in town.
- On Saturday, the Run for the Rescues 5K again will be held in Town Center Park. Sponsored by Georgia SPCA in Suwanee, the event is held to benefit pets. People are encouraged to bring their dogs for this run. The race begins at 9:15 a.m., with a one-mile fun run at 8:30. (See the attached video and the link below for scenes from last year's event, which began in Old Town.)
- In response to the many comparisons of Suwanee City Hall to the Hall of Justice of comic book fame, Suwanee officials are capitalizing. According to the city Facebook site, as part of a new ad campaign, the city wants to take a photo of as many "superheroes" as possible in front of City Hall. The photo will be taken at 4 p.m. Saturday (March 23). "Superheroes" of all ages can unleash their inner Dark Knight, break out heir costumes and join Parker, the costumed mascot, for the photo.

Folks, the race is ON, despite the rain. I'm on the scene in Town Center. More to come.

The first finishers -- human and canine -- are coming in now. A salute to those running in this weather.
