UPDATE: Mourners Bid Farewell to Prince Brothers in Suwanee

Family members attend and speak at the Latter-day Saints church in funeral for Griffin and Jake Prince, victims of the recent boating fatality on Lake Lanier.

Updated 1:53 p.m.

Hundreds of people, including members of the Prince and Hansen families, Tuesday attended an emotional funeral ceremony for Griffin and Jake Prince. The ceremony was held in Suwanee at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Suwanee Dam Road. The ceremony began at noon and concluded about 1:45 p.m.

"Families are forever," Bishop Mark Bradford said in concluding remarks.

Among the speakers were Gary Hansen, the boys' grandfather, and Jeff Humphrey, a longtime family friend.

Suwanee Police officer Wes Edwards, an uncle to the Prince youths, gave the invocation at the ceremony, and was a pallbearer.

Members of the Suwanee Police Department, including Chief Mike Jones, were among the large law enforcement contingent attending.

Griffin Prince, 13, and Jake Prince, 9, were killed June 18 in a fatal boating collision on Lake Lanier. A pontoon boat piloted by the boys' father, Michael Prince Jr., was hit by another boat late at night. The body of Griffin Prince was found in the murky lake waters nine days later, after a search involving many local law enforcement agencies as well as the FBI.

Suwanee Patch will have more coverage of the ceremony.

The correct name of the church is: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The abbreviation you used in the headline should be "LDS". I trust this was a typo, and not an attempt at disrespect.
