Officially, high school football begins Saturday (Aug. 25) in Suwanee and Gwinnett.

North Gwinnett High and Peachtree Ridge High get things started in grand style, with season openers in the Corky Kell Classic in the Georgia Dome.

North Gwinnett, defending region champion, takes on Colquitt County at 2:30 p.m., and Peachtree Ridge takes on Camden County at 5:30 p.m.

In other Kell games, it's Chattahoochee-Kell, 9 a.m., McEachern-Grayson (the defending state champs), 11:45 a.m., and Walton-Brookwood, 8:30 p.m.

All games will be broadcast on Georgia Public Broadcasting (Channel 8 on Charter in Gwinnett) and online at gpb.org.
