SUWANEE NEWS WEEK: Election Matters Heat Up ...

It was another wild week for news in Suwanee and Gwinnett. Let's get a recap:

BROOKS ENDORSEMENTS: The former Suwanee City Council member already had a sizable fund-raising lead over opponent Laurie McClain in the Gwinnett BOC District 1 race. As early voting continued, Brooks also picked up the endorsements of several municipal leaders in the district.

TSPLOST SESSION IN SUWANEE: The information exchange over the transportation referendum came to Suwanee City Hall. Gwinnett Transportation Director Kim Controy led the presentation.

POLICE DRUG TASK FORCE FORMING: Suwanee will be among the Gwinnett police agencies in a new county-wide drug/vice task force, as an outgrowth of the SDS settlement.

GCPS SALES TAX REVENUE DOWN: The Gwinnett school board's E-SPLOST receipts are behind projections for the year and since the program began in 2007.

ONLINE LOTTERY TICKET SALES: The Georgia Lottery moved into the 21st century by planning to allow online ticket sales.
