Cafeterias in Suwanee schools serve hundreds of people a day, and so they have to be held to the same standards as commercial eateries.

And so it was that North Gwinnett High recently underwent a restaurant inspection by the Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale health departments.

The school on Level Creek Drive scored an "A/100" on the inspection. No violations were noted. Here is the the full report.

Also recently inspected was Tohdam Tofu, on Old Peachtree Road. That restaurant scored a "B/100" on Feb. 25.

The following violations were noted for Tohdam Tofu:

  • Rice cakes were discarded after employee used unclean gloves to handle the rice cakes.
  • Cooked shrimp, cooked clams, raw squid stored in undrained icy water in the cold top cooler. Unpackaged food may not be stored in direct contact with undrained ice.
  • Employee removed dirty utensils from the produce prep sink with her gloved hands, then immediately handled rice cakes with the same/ soiled gloved hands.

The full report on Todham Tofu is here.
