The Peachtree Industrial Boulevard outlet of the iconic restaurant chain (near Suwanee Dam Road) often is busy, and if it's merely food you are after, there's plenty of variety.

The usual menu items are still there -- All Star Special, for those with a big appetite. That features a waffle, eggs, and choices on hash browns/grits, bacon/sausage.
On this Saturday, even at mid-morning, it hit the spot. The waffle was a bit undercooked and fluffy, but still tasty. Everything else brought a "mmm" feeling.
But there are tweaks -- pumpkin spice waffles, for example. And keeping with the times, there are health-oriented items, such as dried apples.
It's still the Waffle House, though. Hashbrowns "scattered all the way" can be had, as well as Papa Joe's Pork Chops, $8.80, for meat lovers.
Looking to eat cheap? There's a $1 menu, featuring such things as Texas sausage biscuit.
And speaking of trendy, there's a digital jukebox, which was getting a workout during the morning of this reporter's visit.
That was along with the college football chatter. "You got the 3:30 game today?" someone asked an Alabama fan the day of the Texas A&M game.
Yes, it's the Waffle House, all right.
