Gwinnett Funeral Home to Serve Starbucks

The Wages & Sons in Lawrenceville announced the grand opening of their Starbucks Coffee Bar.

A Lawrenceville funeral home has announced the grand opening of a Starbucks Coffee Bar at its facility.

Wages & Sons Funeral Home & Crematories announced the new feature in a press release sent to Patch. The Starbucks is just one of the many features in the recently renovated chapel lounge.

“We’re always looking for ways to improve and enhance our funeral home to better serve local families, and we thought a Starbucks Coffee Bar would be a great addition,” said Susan Wages in the release. She is the wife of owner and funeral director Jeff Wages.

“We’ve tried to make our lounge a cozy, peaceful place where families can take a much-needed break,” said Wages. “We hope our families and their guests will enjoy the new Starbucks Coffee Bar and find comfort in this updated space.”

Other renovations include re-upholstered furniture, warm earth tones throughout and new outdoor patio furniture.

Just last week, a funeral home in South Carolina made headlines after announcing plans to open a Starbucks inside.

Patch attempted to reach Jeff Wages for comment. However an employee at the funeral home assured us there would not be a drive-thru or anything like a free-standing Starbucks, and that the coffee bar is purely a service for their grieving customers.
