It's autumn, meaning that it's also the onset of flu season. And federal health officials note that even in a so-called "mild" flu season, there is still a hazard.
"Influenza is predictably unpredictable," Howard Koh, assistant secretary for health at the Department of Health and Human Services, said in USA TODAY.
Koh went on to say that 2011 was a mild season, but still 34 children died of the disease. The flu vaccine is recommended for everyone over 6 months of age.

"Even mild seasons can lead to suffering and death," said Koh. "... When it comes to the flu, we cannot look to the past to predict what will happen this season."
In Suwanee, flu shots can be had at such places as Walgreen's and the clinic inside Kroger. The Suwanee Patch business directory lists retail locations and contact information for outlets that might offer the vaccine.
Also, USA TODAY offers this "flu vaccine finder."
