Arris Group Inc., a broadband communications equipment maker based in Suwanee, has agreed to buy a California firm for $53 million. The deal for Big Band Networks is expected to close later this year. Arris said the deal will extend its capabilities in processing, managing and distributing digital video content, according to a news release. Updated 5:59 a.m., Oct. 8, 2011 Vision Airlines, which is based in Suwanee, announced this week that it will begin offering non-stop flights to Orlando/Sanford, Fla., and Ft. Myers/Punta Gorda, Fla. The flights to Orlando/Sanford will originate in Clarksburg, W.Va., and the flights to Ft. Myers/Punta Gorda will originate in Champaign, Ill. These will begin the week of Dec. 19. The new fares will start as low as $99 each-way, Vision Airlines said in a news release.
