The buzz on that new Movie Tavern in Suwanee? It's at your seat. If you want service during a performance, push the red button on the seat table to the right. That will summon a member of the theater's wait staff, and you take it from there. It's one of the envelope-pushing features that the Dallas-based company has installed at the Suwanee facility that opened last month, in the Horizon Village shopping center near I-85. The city's leading business networking organization now has over 200 members and prides itself on its friendly yet determined atmosphere. Arris Group Inc., a broadband communications equipment maker based in Suwanee, has agreed to buy a California firm for $53 million. The deal for Big Band Networks is expected to close later this year. Arris said the deal will extend its capabilities in processing, managing and distributing digital video content, according to a news release. Arris will pay $2.24 per share in cash in a deal valued at about $172 million, counting BigBand's cash on hand.  Also, Arris will host the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers' (SCTE) Cable-Tec EXPO on November 15-17, 2011, at the World Congress …
Updated 5:59 a.m., Oct. 8, 2011 Vision Airlines, which is based in Suwanee, announced this week that it will begin offering non-stop flights to Orlando/Sanford, Fla., and Ft. Myers/Punta Gorda, Fla. The flights to Orlando/Sanford will originate in Clarksburg, W.Va., and the flights to Ft. Myers/Punta Gorda will originate in Champaign, Ill. These will begin the week of Dec. 19. The new fares will start as low as $99 each-way, Vision Airlines said in a news release. If you want to fly away before 2012, airline and hotel deals abound. Vision Airlines in Suwanee is offering flights from $39 one-way to The Bahamas, according to Smartmoney.com. The Bahamas is still in hurricane season until December, but some resorts will give de facto hurricane insurance in case you need to cancel.  Suwanee-based Brainy Brands Co. will be exhibiting at the Toy Industry Association fall preview in Dallas on Oct. 4-6, according to a news release. The company will be showcasing its lineup of Brainy Baby products, including innovative new offerings like the Glowberry Bears, …
