Gwinnett Medical Trains Volunteer Drivers to Assist Gwinnett Cancer Patients in Need of a Ride

Every day cancer patients need a ride to treatment, but some may not have a way to get there. Gwinnett Medical Center is assisting The American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery program in locating and training volunteers here in Gwinnett to help our neighbors get to and from vital treatment. We need your help by being a volunteer driver or a coordinator of rides! Volunteer Drivers donate their time and resources to take patients to treatment and back home again. Drivers are needed during the weekdays. Driver Coordinators help schedule the rides. Coordinators can work whenever it’s convenient for them, one day a week, during the evening or weekends.

Gwinnett Medical Center’s Road to Recovery Information and Training Session will be held on September 6, 2013, from 1-2 p.m. at the Gwinnett Medical Center Resource Center, 665 Duluth Highway, Lawrenceville, GA 30046. To RSVP, please call 770-814-0123. For more information, email judy.godfrey@cancer.org
