Annandale Benefit a Sure Bet

Tropical/casino themed fund-raiser aids Suwanee developmental home.

Annandale Village in Suwanee rolled the dice and won. Again.

The Suwanee-based nonprofit group home for the developmentally disabled staged its 18th fund-raiser in Gwinnett County last weekend. It had a tropical/casino theme called "Jazzy Thing." It had A1A, a licensed Jimmy Buffett tribute band playing along.

And it cashed in. Adam Pomeranz, chief executive of Annandale, said Monday that he is "fairly confident" that the event netted over $120,000 and attracted about 800 people. Tickets were $75, and there were merchandise sales, silent auctions, and casino games as revenue generators.
