Suwanee Parents, Ready for Summer Planning?

It's (almost) summer break!

So if the planning of next year's school year has not driven you crazy, it's now time to think about summer break! Yes, it is still a few months away but registrations for summer activities have already started. Here are just a few fun things you may want to add to your calendar.

1- VBS sign ups are starting. Many area churches offer VBS, or Vacation Bible School, for free or a minimal charge. Shadowbrook Baptist Church has online registration for VBS and several other summer camps. Check out their website at Shadowbrookchurch.org for more information

2. You don't have to be a Girl Scout to have fun at Girl Scout camp. Visit https://www.gsgatl.org/what-we-do/camp/Pages/Council-Operated-Overnight-and-Day-Camp.aspx for more information on camps. There are several camps in Georgia to choose from. Girls can go for just a few days or over a week and have the option of day camp or sleep-over.

3. Gwinnett County offers several summer camps through the parks system. Many of these camps are at Suwanee's George Pierce Park. Check out the online edition of the Gwinnett L.I.F.E for info on prices, days, and times. It can be found at http://www.gwinnettcounty.com/static/departments/parks_rec/pdf/2011/issue_3/Gwinnett_LIFE/

4. A big part of many children's summers is joining the swim league. Gwinnett County swim league has teams throughout Suwanee and surrounding cities. Looking for a summer league to join? Http://gwinnettswimleague.com/ offers a list of teams. Many teams will open registration in March.
