UPDATE: Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Suwanee; Tornado Watch Ends

The National Weather Service alert extends until 6:45 p.m. Monday.

A tornado warning Monday evening gave way to a severe thunderstorm watch in Suwanee. Hail and heavy rain fell on the area.

LOW PRESSURE IS DEVELOPING OVER WESTERN TENNESSEE AND KENTUCKY AS A COLD FRONT DEVELOPS OVER THE SOUTHERN PLAINS AND LOWER GULF COAST. AHEAD OF THIS FRONT...AN AREA OF SHOWERS AND EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS HAS ALREADY BEGUN TO MOVE INTO NW GEORGIA. STORMS WILL INTENSIFY THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AND SPREAD OVER THE REMAINDER OF THE AREA WITH THE THREAT FOR STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS WITH LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING WINDS AND A RISK OF AN ISOLATED TORNADO.
