WPI, Komen Team on Suwanee Events

Special Saturday events are scheduled for Breast Cancer Awareness.

The Wellness Performance Institute in Suwanee is teaming with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure on a "Pink Out Event" during October for Breast Cancer Awareness.

“This is the first event of this nature for WPI, and we are excited to see the various departments within our 53,000 square foot facility wearing pink and training harder for a great cause this October,” WPI Director of Fitness T.C. Thrasher said in a news release.

Special PINK Saturday events include an an All-Day Sports Camp event on Oct. 15, an All-Day Kick-a-Thon Event on Oct. 22, and a WPI Tailgate Party on Oct. 29 as the event finale.

WPI is a fitness and sports-performance training facility specializing in goal-oriented programs designed to meet the needs of all fitness levels from youth to professional. WPI Athletics has an expert team of dedicated instructors, coaches and trainers along with on-site physicians.

“We are using fitness to fight against breast cancer. The more involved we get the community, the more educated and aware the community becomes. Then there is more help towards the cause,” Director of Performance Kaf Herring said in a news release.

Also, 10 percent of all new buslness generated during October and 100 percent of donations generated from PINK Saturdays will be
donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta affiliate.
