Atlanta Rhythm Section Helps Suwanee Celebrate
Classic Southern rock musicians cap a daylong festival at Town Center Park.

in Suwanee was alive with the sound of music Saturday, and there was fun and a message as well.
A concert by the Atlanta Rhythm Section, the group with a long string of hits in the '70s, capped the Celebrate Service Music Festival, sponsored by Amigos for Christ.

Also, patrons were asked to donate to build a water pipeline in Nicaragua.
The ARS show started about 8:30 p.m., after a speech about compassion from Kevin Queen of 12Stone Church. Several bands preceded ARS on the stage.

"Suwanee ... that's Indian for 'is it supposed to be this cold right now?' " ARS singer Rodney Justo siad to the large crowd shortly after the show started.
The band ran through its catalog of hits, including "Champagne Jam," "So Into You" and "Imaginary Lover."
