Country Music Rising Star Velo Heading for Suwanee Soon

It's an Alabama festival, then Town Center Park on Nov. 5.

The rising career of country musician Andy Velo gets busy again the next two weeks. And it includes an appearance in Suwanee, his hometown, on Nov. 5.

Velo, a North Gwinnett High graduate who released his first single in 2010, will be the headline performer in for Parker's Parks Party, a multi-park event meant to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Open Space Initiative.

This week, Velo will be among several well-known artists when the takes the stage at the TomBigbee River Jam festival in Silas, Ala. (The location is near both Mobile and Hattiesburg, Miss.) Velo is scheduled to perform there Saturday.

Velo now has Jim Beam as a regional sponsor for touring. And according to examiner.com, Velo is planning his debut album, which will include "Hank It Up," his first single.

According to his website, Velo has branched out into movies, counting among his credits supporting roles in 2006ʼs “We Are Marshall,” starring Matthew McConaughey, and “One Missed Call.” In 2009, he landed a special action stunt role in “The Blind Side,” starring Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw.

His latest single “Southern Thing” is gaining airplay at radio stations across the country, according to examiner.com.
