'Days' Response From Suwanee Still Strong

Organizers getting book requests via special email address.

A week after the human crunch in Suwanee over the "Days Of Our Lives" tour appearance, interest remains strong.

A tour representative said Saturday that about 200 people have requested signed copies of the commemorative photo book based on the long-running NBC daytime TV show. Organizers set up a special email last week after having to turn away hundreds of fans Monday at Suwanee City Hall.

Monday's signing was scheduled for 6-8 p.m., but it was extended 2 1/2 hours because of the overwhelming response. Two lines -- one to buy the book and one for signing and pictures with the stars -- began forming in midafternoon. Fans came from all over the Southeast, and the turnout was estimated at 2,000. Organizers said it was the most successful stop on the tour, which began in Los Angeles and included stops in New York and Chicago before Suwanee.
