Eve 6 To Play in Suwanee

The Southern California rock group will perform later in the summer.

Eve 6, the Southern California rock group that has been popular since the mid-1990s, will play in Suwanee later this summer, city officials announced Tuesday.

The group, perhaps best known for its hit "Inside Out," will play at Town Center Park on Saturday, Aug. 10. Admission will be free.

Original Eve 6 band members Max Collins, Jon Siebels and Nick Meyers were still in high school when the band secured its first recording contract, according to wikipedia.org, when the band was known as Eleventeen. The current name was derived from an episode of "X-Files," the popular sci-fi TV show from the 1990s.

Eve 6 broke up in 2004, then reunited in 2012, with Collins and Siebels still a part of the mix.

Its latest album, "Speak In Code," was released in 2012.

“We’re looking forward to playing new songs, and reconnecting to the fans with new material,” Collins said on the band's website. “I feel this profound gratitude to the other two guys in my band. We've been through a lot—we've had the mountaintop moments and the Death Valley moments—and we're still here today, we all get along, and we made this thing together."

The band is fully into the digital scene. Collins regularly holds chat/performing sessions on ustream.tv and Facebook.

In recent years, the Smithereens, Vertical Horizon, the Lovin' Spoonful and the Little River Band have performed in Suwanee. Headliner entertainment is still possible for Suwanee Day 2013 in September.
