Flash Mob in Suwanee? YES!

Jazzercise dancers hit Town Center Park right before 'Hairspray' production Saturday.

People gathered in Suwanee Town Center Park on Saturday only thought they were getting Broadway In The Park.

Instead they got a flash mob, too.

The team of local Jazzercise dancers hit right before the production of "Hairspray" on Saturday evening. The dance lasted 3-4 minutes. When the music stopped, the crowd let out a big "Whoooo Hooooo."

Within 30 seconds, the announcer said over the PA system, “You just never know where a flash mob will show up, even Town Center Park!”

Wendy Sorensen, a local choreographer and mastermind behind the flash mob, said she organized the production to bring awareness to National Dance Week.

Sorensen and mob mates Katrina Jacobs, Kejalien Kimbrough, Heidi Marengo, Tiko Shannon, Dominique Elam, Jill Wiig, Mandi Brooksky and others were the performers.

Sorensen said her group plans to continue using the flash-mob technique to bring awareness to other causes such as breast cancer in the near future.

So you never know when the next one will break out in Suwanee.
