Is It Suwanee Day, or Days, or ... ?

City officials are making plans for a two-day mega-fest in the fall of 2014.

The evolution of Suwanee's signature festival into a two-day event also has meant a rebranding.

According to the city's Facebook page, the September festival is now known as Suwanee Fest. Dated Jan. 14, the post read in part:

Following our first planning meeting last night, we're pumped for our newly branded, TWO-day community festival. Suwanee Day is now Suwanee Fest! This year's festival will be September 20 & 21.

City officials announced in November that the annual event would expand to two days in 2014. Several reasons were given, including a built-in rain date and the opportunity to attract a different type of vendor -- also known as "professional festivalers."

There will be other changes, such as no headline concert and no fireworks, both of which were day-ending fixtures in years past. However, a parade is still in the plans, officials said.
