Located in a former Publix store on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, the Movie Tavern offers the "dinner and a movie" concept under one roof. Karen Sibley, spokesperson for the Dallas-based company, said this week that a late April opening is expected, though an official date has not been announced. A hiring event already has been held.

The complex will have nine screens and seat just over 1,000 people, according to Sibley. Also, there are special events such as Saturday morning shows.Β

The facility offers first-run movies and casual dining type food and beverages. Current movie selections at other Movie Tavern sites include "21 Jump Street" and "Hunger Games."
