Memorial Day Music and More in Suwanee

You can "chute" over to Town Center Park in Suwanee for a unique Memorial Day event on Friday.
A parachute event involving an exhibition team from Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga., is scheduled along with a music concert, all beginning at 7 p.m.
The Silver Wings, a unit of the U.S. Army Infantry, are scheduled to "drop in" about 7:30 p.m., weather permitting. Also part of the festivities is the Gwinnett Community Band, a nonprofit group of musicians from throughout Atlanta. They will perform patriotic marches and other personal favorites, according to a city news release.

Also, canned good donations will be accepted on behalf of area food co-ops. The event is sponsored by the Gwinnett Daily Post newspaper.
