Outdoor Movie in Suwanee

Town Center Park will host B at the Movies on Saturday. "Real Steel" is the feature.

Saturday, Town Center Park in Suwanee morphs into an outdoor movie theater, when "Real Steel" is the feature for B at the Movies. The event begins around 7 p.m.

The park this year has hosted an arts festival, a pet extravaganza, and an Atlanta Braves TV viewing party -- just another routine summer in Suwanee.

Released last year and rated PG-13, "Real Steel" takes viewers to the not-so-distant future where boxing has become high-tech, according to a city news release. Eight-foot steel robots, weighing in at a "cut" 2,000 pounds, take over the ring. The movie stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter turned small-time promoter.

Reviewer Tom Long with the Detroit News said, "Real Steel is a blast, an unabashed crowd-pleaser that mixes Rocky, Transformers, video games, and father-son bonding to great, if corny, effect."

Bring blankets, lawn chairs, friends, and snacks, but no alcohol. Parking is available in and around Town Center and along Main Street. The event is also sponsored by B98.5 radio.
