Suwanee Cancels Hot-Air Balloon Events for Weekend

Little River Band concert still on for Saturday.

Suwanee officials have bowed to weather forecasts and cancelled two hot-air ballooon events planned for this weekend.

Saturday evening's 7 p.m. concert by the Little River Band is still on, rain or shine, officials said. Only thunderstorms could delay that event.

“There’s a possibility of thunderstorms this weekend and, equally as important, the forecast calls for gusty winds,” Suwanee Events Coordinator Amy Doherty said in a news release. “For the safety of the crowd and the balloon pilots, Mother Nature has forced us to cancel these events for this weekend.”
