Suwanee Making Events Plans for 2014

The application process is under way, and some events have been pre-approved.

Though there are several events remaining in 2013, City of Suwanee officials already are making plans for 2014.

According to a city news release, application deadline is Dec. 6 to be included on the 2014 events calendar, which annually includes 40 or so events. The schedule has included Woofstock (for pets), beer and wine festivals, concerts and other forms of entertainment.

"Suwanee prides itself on offering a mix of traditional favorites and new events each year," Suwanee Events Manager Amy Doherty said in the release. "We welcome a variety of ideas and applications  that represent the various flavors, cultures, and interests of our community."

Applications are reviewed, and applicants will be notified regarding the status of their application by the end of January, city officials said.

Also, some events have gained pre-approval from Suwanee officials: North Gwinnett High Soccer Sprint 5K (Jan. 11), Suwanee Sweetheart Sprint (Feb. 8), Suwanee Beer Fest (March 15).
