Suwanee Music Barn To Host CD Release Event Friday

The Barren River Trio of Kentucky has a show at the Everett site as part of its tour schedule.

If you are a bluegrass band and want to have a CD release party, where better than the renowned Everett Music Barn in Suwanee?

That's what will happen Friday (Sept. 23) as the Barren River Trio of Kentucky will have a special gig at the iconic bluegrass site on Stonecypher Road. They will be promoting their new release, "American Folk."

The band contacted Tommy Everett, family member and curator of the barn's tradition, recently to arrange details. Also, one of the band's recent gigs was to open for Steven Curtis Chapman at a show in Kansas, according to the website. Show are scheduled later for Tampa and Birmingham.

The Everett barn will continue with its weekly Saturday showing. But this will mark another special event for the site that has hosted performances dating to the 1970s.

Tommy Everett noted that other bands have recorded at the site and hosted release parties.
