Music and More for Vertical Horizon in Suwanee

The band and the crowd interact well during Saturday's concert in Town Center Park.

"You guys do summer nights like no other place in the world," Vertical Horizon singer Matt Scannell told the crowd at Suwanee on Saturday.

And indeed, the crowd was as much a part of the concert as the band itself. VH has many years of recording and touring to its credit. But Saturday's show was notable also for the number of times the audience sang along and otherwise responded to the band's top songs.

The fun started early when VH opened with "Save Me From Myself," and the first of several singalongs came with "Send It Up" (see the attached video). Also, Scannell carried on a dialogue with the Suwanee fans on several songs, perhaps an acknowledgement to interactive media and the influence it has on entertainers' popularity in the 21st century.

The set list consisted of 12 songs and a two-song encore. The signature hit "Everything You Want" was the final song of the regular set. (The set list is attached.)

Other VH band members are Jenn Oberle on bass, Steve Fekete on guitar and Ron Lavella on drums.

SRO and Brothers Belvedere were Saturday's opening bands.
