Saturday Breast Cancer Run Honors Memory of Local Woman
The "Lace UP 5K" kicks off at 8 a.m. On-site registration will be available.
A race to benefit breast cancer awareness and research is planned for this weekend in Suwanee.
The 5K race begins at 8 a.m., June 8, at North Gwinnett Church, 4963 West Price Road.
There will be on-site registration for anyone who wants to participate. The cost is $30 a person. Registration opens at 7 a.m.

The race is in honor of Margaret Gilbert, who died from breast cancer four years ago at 41.
According to race's website, Gilbert was well-known in the Gwinnett County swim community.

"She was a true inspiration to everyone she met," the website stated.
Proceeds from the race will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
