Atlanta Area Church Offering Gas Buydown Oct. 1

Turning Point Church in Henry County will be putting $1 towards gas prices at a nearby station.

Gasoline prices have been falling lately in Suwanee and metro Atlanta. But one Atlanta-area church plans to make them go even lower.

According to media reports, Turning Point Church of McDonough (Henry County) will be buying down the price of gas Monday (Oct. 1) by $1 at a Chevron station on Highway 81 East in McDonough.

Church members will be on hand to pump gas and wash windshields.

The church's Facebook page put it like this:Β "TPC is sponsoring a GAS BUY DOWN as a way to show some love to the folks of Henry County. Yep, it's true!

Tomorrow at 5:30p at the CHEVRON station located at 898 Hwy 81 E in McDonough DREAM TEAMERS will be pumping gas, washing windows and expressing the joy we have inside to hundreds of people."

It's the second time this year that the church has held such an event. The church's pastor, Michael Turner, says that the turnout was so great the first time that the church wanted to do it again.

Monday's event is first-come, first-served, until chufch members run out of money to help customers purchase gas.
