Beer Fest Makes Another Return to Suwanee

The 2013 edition will be Saturday in Town Center Park.

The American Craft Beer Fest seems to have found a warm spot in the spring event lineup in Suwanee. And so it will have its 2013 run on Saturday (March 16) from 1-5 p.m. in Town Center Park.

The debut event in 2011 ran into some sweltering midsummer heat, and so it was moved to spring in 2012, and that has worked better, organizers say.

According to a release from Vuegler Design Group, the sponsor, attendees can expect over 250 beers available for sampling, including beers from several breweries new to Georgia, such as Sixpoint, Blue Tarp, Lonerider and Goose Island.

There will be musical entertainment, of course. Returning Chicago band Ful Kinetic will perform, followed by local acts The Daniel Brothers
and Outatime.

Also, food vendors and games will be present.

The Home Brew contest, which is sold out, will return. The contest will have 200 entries this year.

Tickets are $45 and can be purchased in advance on the Beer Fest website. Admission includes a glass for an afternoon of sampling.

A portion of the proceeds will again be donated to Kingdom Kids to help grant wishes for children facing difficult circumstances.
