Food Safety Check: Subway and Parsons Elementary

Suwanee Restaurant Inspections again looks at local eateries -- and a Gwinnett public school cafeteria.

Two Subway locations and Parsons Elementary School were among the latest inspections by the East Metro Health District, which serves Gwinnett, Rockdale and Newton counties.

In all cases, the eateries received "A" scores. Some details:

  • Subway (525 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard): Score of "A/97". The only violation noted: "Food handler was wearing a ring with a stone while preparing sandwiches. Except for a plain ring such as a wedding band, while preparing food, food employees may not wear jewelry including medical information jewelry on their arms and hands." The full report is here.
  • Subway (3370 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road): Score of "A/90". One of the violations noted: "Observed egg white, egg, and turkey all cold holding in cooler below oven above 41F. PIC discarded eggs and moved turkey to walk-in. Advised person in charge must keep potentially hazardous food cold held below 41F." The full report is here.
