Grab & Go Kids Planner: Feb. 23

What to do, where to go for Suwanee moms this week.

Variety is the spice of life, especially if you have kids. Seriously, some of you could recite entire scripts from Dora if you had to. So this week shake it up a bit with a modern-day Mozart, awesome stories and a certain cat in a hat.

This Friday, both parents and kids get a chance to be part of a unique concept in theater. Duluth High School's Drama Department presents "30/60" (30 plays in 60 minutes), a show that lets the audience participate in their theater experience.

Legendary Dr. Seuss character, The Cat in the Hat, will be paying a visit to Duluth Public Library this Saturday. Bring the kids out to meet him and get a picture. No word on if complimentary green eggs and ham are being served. We can only hope.

Nine-year-old pianist, composer and entertainer Ethan Bortnick will be at Gwinnett Arena on Friday night playing songs from his PBS special including some of music's most well known classics from Mozart and the Beatles to Justin Bieber. Seems like a good kid in  video so go see him now, when he hits 14 all bets are off.

My dad is a veterinarian so I believe nothing teaches a lesson in responsibility like a pooper-scooper. If you agree with me, or just want to adopt a dog, this Saturday Angels Among Us Pet Rescue is sponsoring a Pet Adoption Day at The Forum in Peachtree Corners. Let the kids pick one out or take one home for a surprise.

Suwanee is in for a special treat Saturday. The Harlem Legends, a basketball team made up of former Harlem Globetrotters and pro athletes, take on The Bulldog Bombers,  a team made up of staff and people from the commmunity. The game starts at 6 pm at North Gwinnett High. Tickets are $12 each at the door and will benefit Roberts Elementary.
